Master of Science in Marketing

The Walsh College Master of Science in Marketing (MSMKT) program is designed to provide the in-depth knowledge and practical skills in marketing necessary to design, manage, implement, and evaluate strategies. Students will be exposed to data modeling applications, qualitative and quantitative research methods, custom data analytics tools, and industry-leading research technologies used in making strategic marketing decisions.

Walsh College has also partnered with the College for Creative Studies, one of the top 60 design schools in the world as labeled by BusinessWeek, to impart the innovation and creativity skills necessary to achieve a marketing mastery.

The program consists of 12 courses for 35 credits, with courses offered in a hybrid format, combining in-person classroom instruction with online learning. Select courses will require on-campus attendance while others will be available entirely online. Most on-ground courses will be taught in a 2+2 format, with two hours of on-campus instruction and the equivalent of two hours of online instruction weekly.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics as of May 2013, Advertising and Promotions Managers earn between $45,140 and $145,250, with a median of $93,880. Marketing Managers earn between $64,440 and $166,250 annually, with a median of $123,220.  According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), starting salaries range from $54,100 to $80,000 (source: www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes112011.htm).

Graduate Program Launch: All MSMKT students will participate in a one-day, on-campus orientation program before their classes begin. There will be an overview of your program, a communications assessment, a review of student services, team building and networking opportunities. (0 cr; REQUIRED). On campus. Saturday orientation session.

A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.000 must be earned while in residence. All other courses must be completed with a “C” (2.000) or higher.

The MSMKT program is also available as part of a dual degree option with the MBA. The Dual MBA/MSMKT allows students to complete two distinct graduate degrees in one concise program. The Dual MBA/MSMKT requires a total of 21 courses for 60 semester credit hours.
